Norwegian industry association NMF is as usual the first among the Scandinavian countries to publish the industry statistics for the previous year. The 22 companies on the list presents almost 10% growth in turnover combined, with turnover change ranging from -35% to +49% for individual companies. The list further reveals that it doesn't have to be a disadvantage to run fieldwork operations outside the capital Oslo.
The largest growth is presented by Trondheim based Norfakta, who gets a considerable part of their turnover from its CATI center. Newly merged Bergen based Respons, also shows a good growth of 17%. On the other hand, both Polarfakta and Skala, both located in the north of the country, but without own fieldwork facilities, have reduced their turnover.
The industry giants, TNS Gallup, Synovate and AC Nielsen, continues to grow at a steady pace and confirms their positions at the top of the list, with a combined turnover of almost 600 million NOK, 70% of the industry's turnover.
Among the fieldwork agencies, Norstat strengthens its top position over Synovate-owned Fieldwork, with a 17% growth.
