The US data collection company Western Wats announced the release of {n}fusion sampling – a sampling methodology that expands and diversifies the reach of online sampling frames beyond managed panel. {n}fusion sampling is the process of infusing Western Wats’ managed panel, with additional samples from Mobile Phone Users, Phone to Web recruits, Social Communities and River respondents.
“We designed {n}fusion as a way to reach more respondents, diversify online samples, and ultimately treat respondents as a renewable resource,” commented Bob Fawson, VP of Online Services at Western Wats. “We wanted to be able to provide researchers with respondents who are traditionally unavailable in managed panels. After examining various approaches to increase access to low incidence populations, offline and non-panel populations, we created the {n}fusion solution.”
{n}fusion sampling also focuses on improving respondent good-will by reducing qualification strain. By utilizing pre-qualifying demographic questions, Western Wats is able to match willing respondents with qualified survey opportunities. “So respondents spend more time sharing their opinions and less time attempting to qualify,” stated Fawson.
The company also offers the the flexibility to choose your own perfect blend between the different recuitment methods.
